Invitations will be making their way out soon for the 2017 edition of HalloweenTown Gathering at Ricketts’ Manor. A night full of fright, treats, and delights. All our ghosts are dying to meet you. In the meantime, head over to the video page to enjoy years past.
Enjoy this exciting new technology called photography! A device called a camera magically captures images and makes them available for print! Fantastic! Visit the following link for 2016 photos. And as always, you do have the option to download for free. We only host on Zenfolio in case you’d like to easily order prints. Also, if viewing on mobile, you may need to visit the desktop version to download.
Our Gathering is fast approaching and the list attending is growing. Don’t be left out! Some of our last minute preparations require a headcount of adults and children, so please don’t hesitate to respond yes or no. The food sign up is also available again after you respond.
Invitations have started to trickle out so be sure to check your mailboxes. For those unfamiliar with physical mail, this is typically paper like correspondence that arrives in a metal box assigned to your residence. Brilliant! Remember, all of our ghosts are dying to meet you.
The large space rock that will zip past Earth this Halloween is most likely a dead comet that, fittingly, bears an eerie resemblance to a skull.
Scientists observing asteroid 2015 TB145 with NASA’s Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF) on Mauna Kea, Hawaii, have determined that the celestial object is more than likely a dead comet that has shed its volatiles after numerous passes around the sun.
The belated comet has also been observed by optical and radar observatories around the world, providing even more data, including our first close-up views of its surface. Asteroid 2015 TB145 will safely fly by our planet at just under 1.3 lunar distances, or about 302,000 miles (486,000 kilometers), on Halloween (Oct. 31) at 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT, 17:00 UTC).
Our 5th annual HalloweenTown Gathering was a huge success! Thank you all for attending and making the night magical. We hope you and your families enjoyed the trip into our imagination. As I always say, this is my Disney. My goal is to transport everyone into another world and distract from everyday life. I hope it was successful. As we recuperate in the next few days….ok maybe weeks, we will post all of the photos and of course a 2015 video of the night. I can’t wait to see the bobbing for apples cam! Also, if you left a plate or misplaced any items you may have brought, please let us know and we will get them back to you. Thank you to all who contributed food items. They were all fantastic! We will be eating the strangest of combinations of leftovers in the next few days. In fact I am really craving a mini corndog, taquito, vegetable, spider donut breakfast burrito. Enjoy a safe Halloween and we will see you next year!
